Mukerrem Betul Yerer-Aycan is a pharmacist that graduated from Hacettepe University and an Assoc.Prof. in the field of Pharmacology working in the Erciyes University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Dept. of Pharmacology, Turkey. She is the Chair of the Department since 2007 and has been the Vice-Dean of the Faculty between 2008-2016. She is now the head of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division. She has studied some parts of her PhD thesis in Spain in 2005 and did her post doc in Switzerland in 2007 and visited Colorado University, Denver, US in 2011 to conduct an international Tubitak-NIH joint research project. She has more than 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and 15 national papers and more than 70 presentations in around 30 meetings and has been invited speaker for at least 10 times in international meetings. She has completed 8 Tubitak projects and nearly 30 national projects supported by ERU-BAP.
She has been awarded nationally or internationally 15 times for her several studies. She has graduated 4 masters and 6 PhD students up to date and is now the team leader of 2 MSc and 4 PhD students and they are recently working on the Anti-cancerogen Effects of Some Natural Products and the Mechanisms of Neuropsychopharmacology. She is in the editorial board of 5 international journals including, Nutrients, Current Pharmacogenomics and Personalized Medicine, Journal of Cellular Biotechnology and is an official member of 10 scientific societies. She has been organizing the International Conference on Natural Products for Cancer Prevention and Therapy meeting as a chair since 2015. She says the biggest duty of her career is 'she is the mother of three sons'.
